A non-profit organization founded in 1997 by the late artist Pierre Allard and artist Annie Roy, ATSA creates, produces and presents, on national and international stages, event-based, transdisciplinary and relational works dealing with social and environmental issues.
Engaged in a feminist, pacifist and eco-responsible movement, promoting sustainable development respectful of the fundamental rights of humans and nature, ATSA puts the public and participatory dimension of art at the core of its approach. To promote its pacifist identity, ATSA has abandoned its original acronym (Action Terroriste Socialement Acceptable) in favour of a new slogan: ATSA—When Art Takes Action.
